My Christ. Damned pacifists. Stating that he "didn't care about slavery" is, at least as far as my knowledge extends, a display of willful ignorance as to the mind of one of America's most iconic statesmen.
Southerners who feel a connection to the CSA just because those traitors/rebels happened to be from their states over 150 years ago baffles me. It really does. Don't get me wrong, I'm used to it and certainly not surprised by it anymore; but when I think about it logically, it's just strange. Abraham Lincoln saved the Union that they now live in and - whether or not his original intention - freed the slaves. I'd like to think every Southerner would agree those were both very good things...
