Except Begich has a much better chance than Gillespie ever did.

I suppose 5% is a better chance than 1%. The real difference is that in Alaska, there are many more outstanding rural/absentee ballots. They're not recounting - they're just not done counting.

Either way, an impressive showing for Gillespie. I expect him to win the Governorship in three years.

There are about 24,000 votes out, he has to win by a 2 to 1 margin to win his seat. I understand if he wants to wait just to see, but there really isn't a shot for him.

The are actually about 41,00 votes out.
