Dang, and Sanford was leading or tying most of the day. Crazy turn-around and easily the craziest race yet since I joined ('72 was a mere left-split, '68 was a 2.5 way, '64 was a mere alignment switch, and everything else has been two-party...this is the first effective 3 way)

Birch Bayh (Indiana)/Mo Udall (Arizona) [Democratic Alliance]: 152 EV (28.25%) / 32.5 % PV
Terry Sanford (North Carolina)/John V. Tunney (California) [Worker's Party]: 82 EV (15.2%) / 22.5 % PV

Stand-out Taft States:  Utah (+60%), California (38.5%)
Stand-out Bayh States: Massachusetts (56%),Nevada (35%)
