Yes, New Hampshire is a nice state, FF! Smiley
In the "opinion of fascists" thread, which has nothing to do with New Hampshire.

NH is one of the most fascist places on earth.

...Yeah no.

The one who was actually elected as a Republican and supports the free market.
How can one both be a real republican and support the free market?

Nah, he's kinda right. What's a Republican that doesn't believe in handouts to the Golden parachute CEOs who "job create"? Reaganomics, Mellonomics, goldbuggery...it's all about that corporate socialism and not having too much "unstable competition".

If you want anything close to an actual free market, you need a more balanced approach than that and more anti-trust laws.

They're all Northeastern states imo.

Being on I-95, Acela, safe Dem since 1992, colleges generally being in Northeastern conferences, Baltimore and Washington not really following the development arc of Southern cities, Delaware pretty much just being a suburb of Philadelphia, density of a Northeastern state, they weren't part of the Confederacy, not really part of the Solid South, etc.

The lack of forests in DE/MD (east of Hagerstown anyway) makes them Southern. Also the wide open fields. There are so many variables to choose from.

Topography fail.

Oh yeah that's another thing, I'd never join a religion or church that's primarily rules and legalism-based and about following orders that some other people have decided is the way of God. I'd probably excommunicated if I was a Mormon, thank God.

Worst. Post. Ever.

What about our white Christian friends?

Spanish Inquisition, Holocaust, Crusades, Oklahoma City

Holocaust wasn't done in the name of Christianity. I'm not sure what role Christianity had in OKC either.

It was perpetrated by Christians. According to your statistics, that's enough. I'll also mention the destruction of Native American civilizations and the KKK.

You're moving the goalposts. It was not done in the name of Christianity, it was done by those who despised Christianity.

The KKK. Ok. That counts. I'm pretty sure 9/11 alone more than triples all the people the KKK killed.

Native Americans were overwhelmed by a superior civilization. What can I say...

Actually that Libertarian Socialist post is also f[inks]ing retarded because of the Holocaust and Oklahoma City mentions. You should never let dirks be the voice of reason.

You missed the last line, as if the rather questionable KKK interpretation wasn't clue enough

...are akin to my thoughts on rebooting Teletubbies with an all-female cast. Find something to care about other than vapid media culture created for indolent children.

Oh come on. That's horridly snobbish.

Would refusing to eat pounds of candy in one sitting make me a food snob?

Very few major movie releases, as of 2016, are worth any thinking person's time, and I have read and heard enough commentary on this one to know that Ghostbusters is not an exception.

Obviously, I'll take (very mildly) feminist vapidity over sexist vapidity, but it's a bit like the choice between soda and diet soda. One is clearly better than the other, but why choose either when you have access to a multitude of alternatives that are not harmful garbage?

Moreover, most commentary - including even much of the most compelling critical commentary - fails to recognize that this is, at its core, a children's movie. This is true, by the way, of most major movie releases as of 2016 other than straight drama and highly sexual comedies. If you're a literate adult who usually watches movies without children, I'm not sure why you should be watching this.

Not sure what's bad about that post.

Well first, "thinking person" in most contexts exudes elitism, as if there's just one way to think.

Second, it's the same broad-brush, "all new things coming out suck" argument, which implies releases waaaaay back when were almost always hitters [no they weren't].

Third, in context of the thread, it seems to be doubling-down on comparing Ghostbusters to Teletubbies.

And finally, the whole post seemingly looks down on movies that are child accessible and/or comedic as opposed to straight-drama, having the audacity to whine about someone wanting to see a movie for, idk, entertainment. Commentary not saying something about Ghostbusters entertaining the inner-child is besides the point anyway.

Short-answer: It's just really mean spirited and narrow-minded. Kinda feels like the type of logic used with Oscars as to why all these dramas no one will remember after December get nominated, while lasting, amusing, innovative, and yes, Summer blockbuster types never make it.

Maybe that wasn't the intention at all, but that's how it rubs me....and I don't even give a hoot about the new movie at all.

when Lehman went bankrupt and the world was in panic, McCain acted like an unstable old man by suspending his campaign so he can return to DC to work on the problem.  Of course, McCain knows very little about the economy and added no value when he went back to DC.  In contrast, Obama exuded a sense of calm leadership, even temperament, and good judgment.  It of course did not hurt that Obama decisively won all 3 debates against the old mumbling McCain.  If it weren't for those grievous errors, McCain's margin of defeat would have been more like 3-4 points nationally rather than 7.2 points.  And he would have won IN, NC, FL, NE 02, and the GOP would have done better in the congressional races as well.

Wrong thread.

We got some from back when the Democratic Party was the racist party.

LOL, are you like 12 years old?

Anyway, probably Hayden.

No, I know my history. The Democrats were the racist party until around the 1960's or so.

Let's dispel with this fiction that "fact checkers" aren't just partisan tools to promote an agenda.

Facts can be moved around with technicalities to fit any narrative, so fact checkers are silly and not worth a whole lot.
