Since I'm bad at this, I went with easy.

1976 (I answered mostly in a way that would take California away from Ford, got a lot more than bargained for)

2000 (Get Gore his home state)

First: I stuck with Mondale for Carter, and switched to Graham for Gore

Now continuing (still on easy)

1896 [switched to Adlai Stevenson for Bryan]

1968 [switched to Fred Harris for Humphrey...no idea how but I managed to get a more liberal result out of South Carolina than North Carolina]

And finally, still on Easy, 2012 with Obama...did nothing but campaign in North Carolina, Missouri, and Montana....ended up changing one state from the actual results.

Did 1844, lost the EV but won the popular...probably because I used Pennsylvania instead of New York.

Clay 156 EV
Polk 119 EV

And as for 1948, did better than the actual Truman and took New York.

Truman: 370 EV
Dewey: 123 EV
Thurmond: 38 EV

Dukakis/Gore: 280 EV, 50.2% PV
Bush/Quayle: 258 EV, 48.8%

And I did it without a Solid South nor the handy-dandy Nevada-Ohio bellwethers, New Mexico and Missouri still came through.

Now where are the Clinton years and 2004?

Been a while since I done this, but here's my current batch. All Democratic, and on Easy since I suck at this.

1860: I did slightly better as Douglas

Lincoln/Hamlin: 168 EV, 38.2%
Breckinridge/Lane: 72 EV, 19%
Bell: 39 EV, 13.4% PV
Douglas/Guthrie: 24 EV, 29.3% PV

1916: Lost California and some Midwest states, won Urban New England instead.

Wilson/Marshall: 271 EV, 48.2%
Hughes/Fairbanks: 260 EV, 46.4%

As for 2016a: Won by Wisconsin

Clinton/Booker: 275 EV, 49.2% PV
Trump: 263 EV, 47.6% PV

Guess that's what I get for trying to flip Utah.

Well here's the map anyway

Clinton: 335 EV, 50.7% PV
trump/CARSON: 206 EV, 46% PV

Ran as a liberal Dewey just for shiggles. Even Strom Thurmond did better.  It was beautiful.

Truman/Barkley: 459 ev, 52% pv
Thurmond/Wright: 38, 2.4% pv
Dewey/Stassen: 34 ev, 42% pv
Wallace/Taylor: 0, 2.8% pv
