Physicians tend to lean more R but this breaks down further into subsections (and even then, there is overlap):

1) Specialists are more R, primary care physicians less so
2) Regional differences exist
3) Women physicians more D
4) Academics much more D than those in private practice--and this is where you start to have some fights between those "in the trenches" and those "in the ivory tower."
