eye witness accounts, from 3-4 sources, were all fairly conclusive that the police were being ridiculous

and, of course, the "gay panic" defense used by the police chief should result in his automatic firing and any other police chief that chooses to use it this side of 30 years ago.  If a police officer was actually touched or what have you, why was nobody charged with assault?
