hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_Sherman

In October 2009, Sherman spoke at the Church of Scientology's reopening in Washington, DC.[7] In his speech at the Scientology dedication ceremony, Sherman stated, "I have worked diligently and continuously to express my views, and I believe the views of the entire Congress, that all countries should treat all religions equally and provide true freedom of religion for everyone."[7] Scientology public affairs director Sylvia Stanard said that Sherman is not a member of the Church of Scientology, "but supports the human rights work the church is doing all over the world"

Brad baby, that sounds like a spectacularly weak case, and I am one who believes Israel has every right to control every frigging thing that goes in and out of Gaza. You know, I used to think you were one of the saner Dems in the House. What compelled you to pander like this?  You aren't in trouble for re-election are you?  Is paranoia sweeping through your caucus or what?

Why was he so sane?  Was it because of his support of all the human rights work Scientology is doing all over the world?

Anyway, back on this atrocity.

"I will be asking the Attorney General to prosecute any American involved in what was clearly an effort to give items of value to a terrorist organization,”

Hmm... interesting interpretation of what happened.  Giving medicine to children is a crime if the children are governed by Hamas?  Doesn't Israel itself give some aid to Gaza?

The thing is, is that Brad is just not this stupid. So what is precipitating this crazed nonsense, (and that is what it is, beyond per adventure)?  I am actually curious. Or maybe Brad has early Alzheimers or something. One cannot entirely exclude that in this context, I don't think.

Torie, if anything has been made clear from this flotilla attack, is that some brilliant and rational Americans leave their rationality at the door when it comes to defending Israel.  Israel can do a profoundly stupid thing, like shooting an American citizen four times in the head at close range on a humanitarian ship, but the fact that that ship was designed to undermine Israel's status automatically makes the soldier who shot the American four times in the head at close range the victim, and the dead American the aggressor.

Imagine if Turkish troops had killed an American like that and destroyed the evidence?

How hard is it to say that the people on the ship may not be good guys, but Israel screwed up handling it?  Ernesto Arturo Miranda was not a good person, but the American government screwed up handling it.
