Out of all of the issues that the Democrats have to run on, universal healthcare may just be the most unifying. Tax policy and climate change will affect much of the population, too, but there is something so simple to understand about the idea of universal healthcare that Democrats would be insane not to run on it. The people are ready for a final resolution, and this Trumpcare plan from hell is not it.

There will be many Democrats who fight against this. They'll say that now is not the time, that we should focus on Trump and leave the issues for later. The problem with this is that people will not turn out just to vote against Trump. If they did, then Clinton would be in the White House right now. No, people want to vote for something, so their vote will actually matter for them and their children. Universal healthcare is it, everyone.

I think both houses are in play with this type of strategy. Forget everything the pundits are saying, we have a chance.
