If we're posting polls...

The Saudis and Moroccans are very... confident; and the English appear to have some form of major tournament related PTSD
I would be interested to see what are the numbers for them now.

Not a great start for France, but still a victory. I hope it was just the stress of beginning a major tournament (especially for a team this young), we will see if they improve against Peru.

Maybe Germany will be a victim of the curse of the outgoing World Champions...

These are just the first matches, you can find examples in the past of teams that had a bad start and they still ended up in the final and even won: Argentina in 2014, Spain in 2010, France in 2006, Italy in 1994 or 1982...

This World Cup is so boring so far. Only two good matches: Portugal-Spain, Germany-Mexico.

Hmmm, have to disagree with ya there.
Well, at least we have some surprises in terms of results, but in terms of quality of the game it's really poor in my view.

Serbia-Brazil, I’m not totally convinced that Brazil will win.

Argentina might very well still qualify and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat France if they qualify for the next round. France deserves to lose anyway. Parking the bus at 1-0 with such a terrific squad is a shame. Aren't you guys getting tired of Deschamps? Argentina isn't any better but atleast Messi deserves it because of the past decade. I badly hope Germany loses tomorrow btw.
I do not think it's a strategy, to play defensively once you're ahead, I do not know how to explain but it seems like they just stop playing. Last March, they played against Colombia, the first 30 minutes were excellent, they led 2-0, with a good match, Colombia was on the verge of collapsing, ... then suddenly it stopped, they were no longer combative, they no longer tried to attack, they barely defended, in the end they lost 3-2. The match against Peru (which was already better than against Australia) was like that, France was quite good in the first half, they stopped playing in the second half.

Argentina/France should be a very good match.

France saved so much energy during the group phase, they better do a great match Saturday...

What a nasty match, with the referee very unfair to the Colombians

I mean, yes the Colombians are making obvious fouls and deserve the yellow cards, but the English did some obvious fouls too with not the same sanctions from the referee.

Barrios headbutted a player and just got a yellow. Shocking call.

The English player gives a nudge first and then overreacts, a yellow card was the right call, the English player deserved a yellow too.
Maguire did at least 3 very ostensible fouls or simulations and received nothing.

On this match England deserve this win, but the team appears weaker than in the group phase.

I'm quite happy with the performance of our team (beyond the fact they advance), a very solid performance from the start to the end.

This is beautiful, but not over yet (I hope...).

3rd final for France in the last 6 world cups, quite astonishing.

Well deserved for Croatia, England has, inexplicably, collapsed mentally and physically in the second half.

Croatia really has some strengths: a great mental strength, a balanced team, it will not be easy for France.

So Harry Kane is officially the worst player to "win" a World Cup Golden Boot since the inception of the award, then... 3 penalties and accidentally deflecting a goal in. What kind of a c**tish manager doesn't let a player who's on a hat-trick take the penalty in an easy match?! (i.e. Stones in the Panama game)

England is probably the more overestimated team of the tournament: out of 7 matches only 3 victories (against fairly weak teams: Tunisia, Panama and Sweden)
