most likely really low. There is a concern among some about people leaving Detroit and moving in a crime going up in the suburbs. But I live a few suburbs over from Detroit.

There's a small to medium sized amount of crime in Harrah (immediately to my North and East), mostly home burglaries and domestic disputes.  Shawnee has been getting rough as of late.  Choctaw (immediately to my west) seems to have one or two incidents a month, generally of the animal cruelty variety or domestic disputes variety.  There are parts of Midwest City and Oklahoma City that it is risky to even drive through in broad daylight and you sure as heck don't pass through between 6:00 pm and 7:00 am.  If you have to drive through, lock your doors and keep on driving, do not stop.

what, are there really areas of Oklahoma city you shouldn't drive through during the day? You can pretty much drive on any primary road through Detroit in broad daylight and be fine, I wouldn't drive into some neighborhoods. I have been in Detroit after dark quite a few times, most of them were downtown Detroit which is safe enough to walk around even after dark especially if there is a sporting event or something. But other times I have been on main roads of Detroit after dark, sometimes even after midnight and didn't feel that unsafe. Most of the time you take the freeway in and out of Detroit and can be out of Detroit in 15 minutes from Downtown. I wouldn't recommend just randomly driving around Detroit after Dark outside of Downtown but stick to main roads and you should be ok.
