That's it. If Democrats don't manage to make substantial gains in 2018, it's completely on them.

They must of promised him something. He knows he's toast in 2018 anyway

Not only did he vote yes, it was his vote that put it over the top.

He may have cast the 216th vote, but this did pass with one 'extra' vote. So the "deciding vote" ad can't be used in the same way as it was for the passage of ObamaCare.

You know that had several extra votes as well?

In the house, yes, and the "deciding vote" ads haven't really been used against house members. In the senate, ObamaCare passed with the exact number of votes required, and that is where the "deciding vote" ads came from.

I thought Classic Conservative didn't like the bill? I could be mistaken.

A flip side to everyone cheering how do you feel about preserving 80% of ObamaCare? You know the exchanges, subsidies, and the mandate is all still there right? The expansion will be moved leftwards in the Senate as well.

You do know that for all the changes we're still to the left of 2009?

Not exactly. The subsidies have been replaced with refundable tax credits that are mostly based on age, not income. The employer mandate has been repealed. The individual mandate has been replaced:

So far the senate GOP Nos on the current bill are Murkowski, Collins, Heller, Portman, Capito, and I believe Cotton. If you add Paul, Cruz, Lee then this bill fails 43-57.

Is there anyone who still believes that Trump isn't governing like a generic Republican and that he is a populist or something like that, haha?

TBF it's debatable whether this is RyanCare/MacArthurCare or TrumpCare.

I agree with Mondale. I will predict the "moderate" R's in the senate to vote for passage up until they proven me wrong.

Murkowski and Collins won't vote to cut PP. Cotton, Paul oppose it on purist grounds. Cruz, Lee may do the same. The Portman crew doesn't even come into the picture in terms of whether this passes.

It was never going to be voted on this week, and anyone who said it would be was being silly. The House will pass it next week or the week after. The Senate is the real battlefield.

I will now accept my accolades.

They're not even trying to hide it, on Occupy Democrats Logic they're gleeful that people wouldn't be able to afford insurance with this bill. The government providing any type of health insurance to them is "slavery". Jokes on most of them if it passes and all the pills they need to pop to stay alive won't be covered. Also note how erective dysfunction is not one of the pre-existing conditions.

Meh, Occupy Democrats Logic is about as relevant as the 10 random people who comment on some congressperson's post with "You just lost my vote over ___________!", who in 95 cases out of 100, either aren't voting in the first place, don't live in the right district, or were always going to vote against the congressperson. No Republican looks at Occupy Democrats Logic when deciding how to do anything.

The 13 senators set to draft bill when the AHCA moves to the senate are:

This is going to be even worse than the House bill

Actually, while it could be better, could be a lot worse as well.

The House will fall in line..  They've already voted for a bill, the ads are already going to be run no matter what.  They have nothing to lose now.

The moderates, yes. But the freedom caucus doesn't care about electoral stuff. All of them are in Uber-safe districts that want to see people dying in the street.
