I don't exactly have confidence in the FLDEM party. I mean seriously, Charlie Crist for governor? Yeah I endorsed him but only because the other option was Rick Scott.

Wulfric,
Between Rubio and Murphy, what would be your choice?

Rubio won a primary straw poll in Sarasota County. Here's where that county is:

U.S. Senate:
Marco Rubio: 247 (57.4%)
Carlos Beruff: 183 (42.6%)

U.S. Congress (FL-16):
Vern Buchanan (inc.) : 366 (90.4%)
James Satcher: 39 (9.6%)

https://m.facebook.com/notes/republican-party-of-sarasota-rpos/sarasotagop-straw-poll-results/10155010526755278

Seems a tidge underwhelming, but still a comfortable win.

I wouldn't try to extrapolate too much from a 430 person straw poll in a rural county.

Glad to see that people in FL-09 know that socialism is never the answer!

Alan Grayson did carry his district in the Senate primary, so don't give it too much credit.

How is Dena Grayson a "socialist"?

The wife of a socialist is a socialist by association.

Anyone who is in any way associated with Bernie Sanders is a socialist. If you at any point supported him, you're a socialist. Anyone he supported at any time is also a socialist. Anyone related to him is a socialist, and anyone related to anyone who he supported or anyone who supported him is also a socialist. Red scare FTW!

Judging from his commentary on any "Socialist"'s primary, I'd say Wulfric is literally terrified of socialism. Like, a legit phobia that causes irrational behavior and thought.

I just know that it's a terrible ideology for this country. I'm scared that this country isn't realizing that as much as it should because a self-declared socialist got 43% of the national primary vote for the largest party in the united states, and in doing so came within striking distance of winning more states than Hillary (not counting the territories), and wasn't locked out of a majority of pledged delegates until June.

Also, the rule of "socialism by association" is thus:

Anyone who is improperly associated with Bernie Sanders is a socialist. If you at any point supported him for president, you're a socialist. Anyone he supported at any time before they won their party's nomination, and those related to such people, is also a socialist. Anyone related to him or anyone who supported him for president is also a socialist. People that were not endorsed by Sanders until they reached their respective general election are not socialists. Therefore, Hillary Clinton is not a socialist.

Wulfric, a staunch anti-socialist has a question to ask you -- do you consider Collin Peterson (noted Bernie endorser, but generally considered to be one of the most right-wing remaining Democrats in the House) to be a socialist?

Yes. He endorsed Sanders for president. Only a socialist would endorse a socialist presidential candidate.

There is no reason that a non-socialist would support a socialist for their party's nomination.

What about "I don't like Hillary Clinton"? Is that not a legit reason?

"I don't like Hillary Clinton so I'm going to vote for someone who would destroy the core factors of this country's identity" sounds quite dumb.

I should also note that it's not as if that specification I put out is foolproof. It's possible that someone related to Bernie Sanders could reject everything they heard from him. But the chance of them doing so is pretty low; thus there is a high probability that they are a socialist.

But we're not talking about people who support a socialist, we're talking about people who support Bernie.

And he self-identifies as a socialist.

Professor Wulfric, if Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton had a baby, would said baby be either a socialist, a capitalist, or a mulatto-type kid?

Socialist. He would be Sanders's son and is therefore related to Sanders. Clinton would remain a capitalist as long as she did not marry Sanders.

So by Wulfric's logic Keith Ellison is a socialist as he endorsed Sanders. And therefore everyone who votes for him is a socialist...meaning Minneapolis is a majority socialist city.

No, people who vote for a socialist by association are not themselves socialists by association, as the link there is too frayed. Bernie is a socialist by his own admission, so voting for him does make you a socialist.

In a hypothetical election between Bernie Sanders and pancreatic cancer, would a Sanders voter still be a socialist?

Not answering hypotheticals that have a <1% chance of ever occuring.

I mean,
Considering I still believe Trump will implode, I'm sure it is still possible he drags down Rubio in the end.

Well, Rubio appears to be running more than 5 points ahead of Trump, maybe even more than 10 points ahead. Remember that Obama only won Florida by 3% in 2008. Unless Clinton is going to landslide in the state (which probably isn't happening), he's fine.

Unless Murphy can convince Hispanic voters to abandon Rubio en masse, he isn't going anywhere.
If you look at the PPP polls he's clearly leading with hispanics by 20 points, which is much more plausible than the Mason Dixon poll.

But if Murphy really is in a close race or about to make a surprise comeback, why would the DSCC suggest they are conceding the race through their spending patterns?

So... as someone who doesn't know much about political geography in Florida:

Do we expect Rubio to actually carry Miami-Dade County, or just over-perform there relative to Trump while still losing it?

Still lose it. His ceiling there is probably about 45% (Romney got 38% FTR).
