Cuellar is a Democrat and denying that makes you look quite silly.

It's called hyperbole, but the point is that when it comes to the Senate, the debacle with BBB should make it even more clear that Democrats have to have some level of standard, and not literally accept anyone with a (D) next to their name who will happily sabotage any attempt toward progress if they believe it helps their re-election odds.

No, they should focus on recruiting Democrats.

Why yes, and Republicans should focus on recruiting real hardline #MAGA Republicans in blue states like Massachusetts or Virginia, not squishy RINOS!

First of all, Massachusetts is not at all comparable to Texas in terms of partisan lean. Second of all, I'm not saying Democrats need an absolute hardliner, simply not another Sinemanchin who will hold up any kind of progress in the name of "moderate heroism" (or because they think it'll help their re-election odds), and lastly, don't Republicans do this anyway? It's not like Republicans from swing states or even slightly Democratic-leaning states are particularly moderate or "bipartisan." Plenty are hardline partisans who vote as though they represent Oklahoma and face zero consequences for doing so.
