That quote is missing the key word: "today" ("too much about what the voters think today.") He was saying that Congress is too reactionary and is only thinking and acting in the present, rather than looking at the long-term implications of their actions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Bredesen fanboy. I definitely hate that he praised the TPP at the beginning of the recording, but there's definitely a difference between arguing that Congress shouldn't care about what voters think at all, as opposed to being more careful with their actions and thinking about the future as well.

Yep, celebrity endorsements mean everything, as President Hillary Clinton will gladly tell you.

With Heidi heading for defeat and Beto’s chances of winning getting slimmer by the day, TN is probably the Dem’s best shot at the 51st seat now.

TN isn't happening.

Just like how Ron Johnson was DOA, Anthony Brown was going to easily be elected governor, and Mark Warner was totally safe. Blackburn is still favored, but an upset is still very possible.

Neither Johnson, Hogan, nor Gillespie were down by double digits, and most of them were gaining in the polls in the final weeks. If polls at the end of October start to show Bredesen catching up again, then we'll talk.

That article seems to indicate that neither party really has a good idea what's going on in the Senate. I have to wonder in what universe Nevada and Arizona are "tilted toward the Republicans", Florida is leaning toward the Republicans, Missouri is locked up for the Republicans, but Tennessee is "still a real race." That sounds like a red wave taking place everywhere except Tennessee, which experiences a blue tsunami. Forgive me if that seems a bit implausible.
