Formerly, when Puritanism tried to replace HIM by a moralism, it was rather sinful to BE SEEN avoiding fornication and those disturbed by the angels (poets, painters,...) were provoked to APPEAR immoral, vide MistressQickly, MollFlanders, FIELDING, STERNE, HOGARTH, SWINBURNE, WILDE, SHAW..., culminating in the 19th century: In the "AntiChrist" NIETZSCHE and the "Satanism" of BAUDELAIRE, both obviously saints, or DOSTOJEVSKI's holy whore Sonja.

% But as the replacement of HIM succeded, we now have a vulgaire and contradictional moralism of immoralism - who opposes abortion is criminal, who dislikes homosexuality is unnormal a.s.o. -, which makes amorality boring and ugly: "For aesthetical reasons alone the strictest observance of moral is inavoidable in the 20th century!"
