to expand on that....explain to this ignorant libertarian, how is Maoism any worse than other specific flavor of communism?  They all, because of reality, suck pretty hard, can't possibly work and almost always seem to lead to millions of dead in a short period of time at some point (if not propped up by an outside ally that's already did the mass murder part for them).

where Maoists did take power, their weird fixation of agrarianism led to surreally backward and destructive policies. A lot of people (stupidly) like to justify Stalin's actions in industrialising the nation as breaking eggs to make omelettes, which is foolish; but Maoism - in China, in Albania and in its most demented outgrowth in Cambodia breaks eggs and drops them on the floor. (I guess one issue is that Maoism tended to proliferate in Asia, and Asian communists for whatever reason are on another level of insanity).

and the parties that don't take power are just as bad, given their obsession with People's Wars that only serve to form little terrorist cults (Shining Path, the Nauxalites, the New People's Army etc) that certainly don't advance their goal.
