With the Superman motif, I get a very idealistic vibe from CK's posts. His worldview is based around that classic - almost hackneyed - position where America's strength is drawn from it being a moral, guiding force. I mean, such an ideology can be easily morphed into the negative (Join Us In Freedom ... Or Die) but there's nothing inherently wrong with it. I think it complements the doctrinaire American conservative right-libertarian vibe in a way that is deeply unfashionable amongst the modern American right.

I find the superhero motif very interesting though. One can take that instinct in a deeply unlibertarian way - the notion that people need saving by some external force etc.

Extreme -
One of those activist types who prides themselves on being more [ideology X] than anybody else, in order to fulfill the Platonic Ideal of that ideology (in this case, the economically liberal, Christ-infused individual-centred nationalism that defines conservatism stateside). I find the self-identification as "Extreme" pretty unique tbh. Normally people all across the political spectrum like to pretend that everyone else secretly agrees with them rather than defining themselves as extreme.

Snowguy -

A social democrat with antiestablishment leanings. These manifest themselves in denial of climate change (an interesting sight for a modern leftist), a quasi-gnostic theology and a slight tendency to doompaul about economic matters. Also obsessed with weather, but I don't know what that means idealogically.

A sort of mainstream, comfortable conservatism that neither fits his screenname or username. Also hates cold weather, while living in Washington state.
