Kind of reminds me of when PETA sent angry letter to the PLO because they had killed a donkey in their efforts. Say what you like about animal rights activists, they know how to rile people up and they certainly do a great job of that.

Animal exploitation is more or less required for human civilization, so I don't see any real issue with 'True Leftists' taking a jab at the often sanctimonious brand of politics that 'animal rights' types bring to the table.

Required for civilisation up to this point. People used to think feudalism and slavery were required in order to maintain civilised order, but they were left behind.
