New NFL quarterback Joey Burrow, who is the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner, 2019 National Football Champion, No. 1 draft in 2020 NFL draft has a pretty progressive outlook on life.

In a league that blackballed Colin Kaepernick, will Burrow's stance help him or hurt him?

Burrow is tough on those who favor ICE and Trump's immigration policies. He wants people to unfollow him on Twitter or block him if they favor caging children.

I do think it'll significantly hurt Burrow if/when he becomes a free agent (at least half the leagues owners are going to refuse to offer him a contract), but for now it isn't a problem.

I guess sports owners like conservative conformity......Burrow doesn't like ICE, etc.

ICE should be reformed, not abolished.

Why? Burrow can't have different thoughts?

He doesn't like ICE and so forth.

No. The fact that he will be playing for the Cincinnati Bengals is what will hurt him.

Burrow will probably want to be traded to another team, but he is an Ohioan, he grew up in Athens County, a Democratic stronghold.

That shows that Democrats should contest Bill Johnson and Steve Stivers.

I wonder how Burrow feels, that his area is surrounded by crazy Trumpers. His hometown voted for Hillary, The Plains, Ohio.

At least he acknowledges his privilege and uses it for good, I suppose.

Some of his white quarterback counterparts do not, a lot of them are white conservative privileged men, like Peyton Manning.

It shows that Democrats should not take OH for granted, they are a lot of progressives in Ohio. Sherrod Brown, etc.

Cincinatti is not a Trumpy place at all, I'm confused at what you're trying to prove here.

I'm talking about his neighbors, in his hometown of Athens County, Ohio. The county his mother works in, is a poor Trumpy Appalachia county. His parents considered selling their Ohio home to move to Baton Rouge.

Heck, I wonder what the LSU fans in Baton Rouge will think. Louisiana is a conservative state, the state of Steve Scalise, Bobby Jindal and John Kennedy!

Burrow spoke out about the Floyd police murder.

He seems very pissed with this.

It's not gonna help with the Jerry Jones, etc of the world, when he is a free agent.

Tiger Droppings, a LSU fansite website, is making fun of him right now.

I'm surprised that Burrow's activism isn't making news in the NFL.....for a white quarterback, he is pretty bold for saying that Floyd's death and police brutality is a human rights violation for America.....I wonder if any owners may be dismayed.

1. His name is Joe, not Joey, you friggin dork
2. Good for him. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and I hope he continues to push these ideas forward during his career
3. You know exactly why Colin Kaepernick was blackballed

Joey, Joe, whatever.

I know that the Joneses probably crossed him off the list. The Cowboys would want Burrow, he is seen as a better player than Dak Prescott.
