I better not be getting my hopes up for nothing.

Well, there's an excellent chance that this just means Pawlenty is going off to meet with McCain to interview for the job.  I think that's more likely than the possibility that McCain is actually about to make the announcement.

Don't think it's happening today.  Pawlenty is apparently scheduled to campaign for McCain in Iowa on Saturday though:

which, again, could mean nothing.  And Firstread says that GOP operatives who don't work for McCain directly but advise him informally are suggesting that it's better to hold off for a while on the VP announcement:
