Lots of Democrats were dropping hints early on in this election cycle that they would be interested in running for president, but ended up not running, presumably because Clinton seemed to have it locked up.

E.g., Cuomo, Dean, Gillibrand, Hickenlooper, Klobuchar, Patrick, Schweitzer, etc.
