Apparently, two witnesses claim that one of the attackers claimed affiliation with al Qaeda, with one of them specificially claiming affiliation with al Qaeda in Yemen:

Various news outlets reporting that the identities of the three individuals are known to authorities.  Two brothers, age 34 and 32, born in Paris, and the third age 18, nationality unknown.

To answer my own question: The Guardian's blog says one of the men identified by police was identified on the basis of an ID card left behind in the getaway car.  That doesn't seem like a very ironclad piece of evidence.
