What I wonder is just how much you post here is your real world, and how much is your fantasy world, and just how much you can discern the difference between the two.

Embrace cynicism!:

My default assumption for everyone I meet on the internet is that they're compulsive liars, and nothing they say about themselves is real.  So no, I don't believe much of what Bushie says about himself, nor what most other folks on the interwebs say about themselves, but that's OK.

Either you're flat-out lying about the circumstances surrounding the last couple of weeks, or Xerox (or Apple? Why did you mention that Apple was involved at one point?) invented a Rube Goldberg-esque scheme to get rid of you ... and trust me, companies like that don't bother with ridiculously intricate fabricated promotions in order to get rid of someone. They simply fire them.

Don't forget "I've already shredded that job offer because it's no good anymore."  Who ever heard of such a thing?

Jeff - do you have any proof you can give us that this job is real?  Or that you still hold your current job?

He already said that he no longer has the OK job, and is now unemployed:

Do you still have your OK job, Bushie?

No.  Even if I did, though, $8.75 an hour with gas prices skyrocketing would barely even get me gas money.

Look, I'm all for calling out Bushie on the preposterous-sounding nature of his story, but I don't see the point of now demanding proof.  Why do you care so much as to demand proof?  He tells his tale, we tell him we don't believe him, but it's his choice as to whether he wants to try to convince us otherwise.

I’ve got a phone interview with J-Mann tomorrow at 2:00 pm!!

Why not just conduct the interview in this thread?

...most of my high school class stayed in South Carolina for the 4 years because they didn't want to change scenery, but I went to North Carolina...

Wow, so exotic!  Was there a culture shock?  Hard to get used to the food?

Not near as often.  When I went this past Monday, it was the first time I had gone in a couple months.

Good cause the threat to ban you for being a fat still exists, no?

At least mod review, yes.  The criteria for avoiding the 50 death points was 25 pounds.  I've got 6 weeks left and I have lost 15 pounds.  It's been more difficult with my mother being in the hospital this week, and because of that, I'm still going out, but I'm just getting a singly patty burger with no cheese and no fries.  I started at 264, and I'm down to 250.  So, I guess that's 14 pounds to be exact.

Ah, ok, mod reivew......but Mikado's a serious man (except when he's drinking and whoring around), so get to losing the weight Wink

I'll outdrink my counterpart any day. Wink

Anyway, I am dead serious about BushOK's weight.  September 30th.  245 pounds.

And no, falling below 245 between now and then but going back over it by the target date doesn't count.
How will you know what his weight really is?

He's a good Christian man, I don't suppose he'd blatantly lie to us.

Ummmm.......Pages 135-136 of this thread.....

Things have changed dramatically just over the last 5 hours. First of all, the opportunity in Kansas busted.  That wasn’t the end of it, though.  I got a call from a firm in, guess…, Utah, Ogden, Utah.  I’ve got a job up there as a junior web developer if I want it starting Monday, September 10, 2012.  I have talked it over with my parents, and I will be on my way to Utah on Monday, September 3, 2012.  I will be staying in an extended stay hotel for probably the first two months until I get a real good feel for how I will like the job.  This is my opportunity, and I’m taking it!!  This application process started earlier in August even while Xerox was playing its game with me, but I just kept it under my hat for a while as Kansas was my first choice.

Are you going to tell us why the Manhattan "solution" went bust?  So many job offers made and then withdrawn. Odd that.

Unless I'm missing something, he never said there was an offer on the Manhattan job.  Just that he'd done an interview with them, and was awaiting their decision.

I'm going to speak no more of the job in Utah until I get there and get started.

Yes, this is the standard pattern.  People start poking holes in the logic of Bushie's narrative, and he says he's going to stop answering questions about the topic in question.  For example:

I'm not answering any more questions about Salt Lake City, so your suspicions will have to remain just that.  I'm not going to do anything to prove or dispel them.

Then the next step is that he says he's going to lock the thread for a while, if not forever.  E.g.:

Per advice from a certain poster in authority, I am locking this thread. I'm not getting through to you nor you to me.  I will continue posting sans update.

I am going to lock this thread for a while.  It's become boring even for me, so it's going under lock and key.

Then he'll wait until people forget or lose interest in the particular plot hole in question, and then reopen the thread.  It's the exact same script every single time.

Oh, and I'm also reminded of this thread:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=131728.0

Another common Bushie tactic (though he doesn't use it as much anymore) is to ask "Why do you guys care so much about the details of my life that you spend all this time trying to prove me wrong?", to which the obvious rejoinder is given by Kal here:

Why are the people believe in anything related to BushOK?

More importantly, why do they care?

Most importantly, why are you telling all this BS to us?

....to which there seems to be no good answer.

I know what I know and we'll find out if what I know is true or not in 12 days.

How will "we find out" when all we have to go on is what you post?

My going theory is that Bushie never quit Oklahoma Natural Gas, but got injured on the job and went on workman's comp, and decided to start spinning these elaborate tales to serve as entertainment during his downtime for the last two years.

Have you considered pursuing education as a career? Your spirit and your organization in the reporting makes me think you ought to...

I have not considered education as a career.  That is an interesting idea.  I do believe I would be good at it.

Yes, if there's one thing you excel at, it's learning things!

My paychecks, no.

Other people's checks, yes.

I think Andrew was hinting at On Company, and that's what I was mindful of when I responded.

What was this problem?

If you remember, ON Company which occurred in between Oklahoma Natural Gas and Ameriscam was stretching into money laundering territory which included depositing other people's checks into my account and then take the checks out less a small "handling fee".  Bad news.

Ameriscam?  So did you finally concede that Ameriplan was a scam?

Has any of the mod squad worked their techno magic to confirm that he is, in fact, posting from Utah?

Yes, he is.

Im conflicted by the personal messages from Dave.  I just wanted to test if I am indeed on mod review.

Dave has sent you personal messages?  What have you done to be so blessed?

Perhaps locking this and starting a new Update thread will reenergize things somewhat:

So are multiple smaller threads preferrable to larger ones?  I always just assumed that like more boards, more threads would slow down the forum even if the number of posts are the same.  If this is the case, there are probably some threads on Off Topic/Forum Community that can be locked and restarted.

Yes - go ahead and lock some of these longer threads - should probably keep the post count to 2k or so max per thread.

Thanks,
Dave
