True, but there's always the chance that Obama dies or resigns before his term is up. It's happened 4 times in the last century (i.e., 4 out of the last 25 presidential terms), so it's hardly impossible. Under such circumstances, it's not totally clear what would happen with the 2012 Democratic nomination. Biden would be the favorite, but depending on the timing and circumstances, I could see it going to HRC.
