IL and Ma would be blue if Vallas , not Quinn been the nominee, preview of 2018 gov rematch.

I don't see how IL have a different nominee for Governor affects MA, but yes, pretty much everyone but William Daley could have beat Rauner.

The vast majority of the gubernatorial races being in a midterm year is killing the Democrats.

In states where we have the trifecta we need to move governor's races to presidential years ASAP.

To move a election to a different year you'd probably need a trifecta + a supermajority in the State Houses.

Soooo... we could do that in VT, CA, HI, and DE.

That won't help us much.
