Do these people have to actually live their daily lives according to Christian values such as 'love thy neighbour' regardless of race/ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation?

...or do they just have to give lip service?

Some do, some don't.  The claim that Evangelicals hate ethnic minorities, people of other faiths, and LGBT people is baseless.

The kinds who value legalistic enforcement of rules over loving others.

In short, sadly, the vast majority of such types.

They will love others who are within their own Realm and family oh, but they really fall short on the whole loving others outside their comfort zone.
