That would suggest everything in life is 100:0 or 0:100, not 50:50. That wouldn't even average to 50:50 because the 0:100 events far outweigh the 100:0 events.

I was on Canal St. in NYC yesterday with my friend when we run into his ex-girlfriend walking down the same side of the sidewalk.  after the ordeal had passed, he asked me, "what are the odds of that?", to which I replied, "100%."
