if Gore were speaking tonight under different circumstances - as an outgoing two-term president - it's exceedingly likely that Joe Lieberman would be the Dem nominee...

I wish that were true.

and that would either make me vote for McCain or some third party.

would McCain be speaking in Lieberman's behalf at the DNC?

not nearly as good as his 2004 speech (and I thought his 2000 acceptance speech was excellent, but then again, I was 9), but it's nice to hear from the old man.  he doesn't give many major speeches anymore so the rustiness is to be expected.
