I used to run a few of these online.  they're more fun.  instead of the winner pushing an .800 winning percentage and everyone picking the same winner in 13 of 16 games, the spread cuts the prolific like a knife.  I stopped doing this on Amazinz.com after 2007, when I stopped being a high school bookie.

if anyone needs a tutorial in how a spread works, I will be able to answer, as will patrick1 and a few others.

Are we picking every game or just the one we're most sure of?

in the end total victories will win the pool, so it behooves you to pick every game.

as an aside: when is the last time a reigning champion was more than a touchdown underdog in week one?

Wow, was that the spread at kickoff or did it end up coming down a bit?

as I remember it was up around 8.5/9 at one point, came down closer to 7.5.  hopefully you and a few others can get picks in in the next 14.5 hours so I can justify continuing this.
