Btw this is why I don’t think Hogan/Baker or on the dem side JBE would do good in presidential races and that is to realistically be the nominee , they would have to flip flop so hard that it would greatly undermine their chances to win .
Yeah that's the problem with those hypotheticals, these people would never, ever win their primaries so it's just pointless to think about how the general election would play out.
Romney was probably even more moderate than Hogan (although not as moderate as Baker) when he was the governor of MA, yet he was able to flip-flop to the far-right and win the 2012 GOP Primaries comfortably.
ROMNEY??? FAR-RIGHT???
Boi, you've indisputably lost EVERY single marble in that brain of yours. Romney is about as far-right as Joe Manchin is far-left.
2012-era Mitt Romney is probably the most right-wing major party nominee is recent memory. Calling him far-right may be an exaggeration, but only barely. Keep in mind we're talking about the least principled man who's ever lived, a guy who has held every single position conceivable at some point in his career. Governor Romney and Presidential Candidate Romney and Senator Romney are three entirely different people with very little ideological overlap
