I played piano for about 6-7 years, but quit.  My last piano teacher was Russian (in every sense of the word; stereotypes included), which was part of it.  I also absolutely loathed the recitals I was forced into.

Trombone, however, which I have played for 6 years, is much better.  Especially because my private lesson teacher and I talk politics for half of our lessons Smiley
