I am down on Abdul, this race is too important to have some guy whose never run for anything before to be the nominee. Whitmer has won six election and led the Senate D caucus she knows what it takes to win.

Abdul did not even vote in the primary so why are Bernie people lining up behind him?

I'm optimistic that once Whitmer has some ads rolling she'll overtake Thanedar in the polling. I should hope so, Thanedar is absolutely awful. Who the hell makes up that guy's base of support?

Progressives/left leanings who don’t know anything about him. He’s spent upwards of $7 million and he only has a 3 point lead with 35% undecided. Despite pretty much every Our Revolution member lining up behind El-Sayed early, he’s down to about 7% in the polls.

Here’s Whitmer’s ad: https://youtube.com/watch?v=9kicNDIgqvg

I can't believe the demonym for someone from Michigan is "Michigander." Has HillGoose ever visited there?

The vast majority of us prefer Michigander over Michiganian. It just sounds right.

I wish more states were like Indiana and just gave their people a cool demonym like 'Hoosiers'.

Apparently El-Sayed's rallies with Ocasio-Cortez in Grand Rapids and Flint attracted large crowds.

Is this a sign of late-stage momentum for El-Sayed? Seems like Whitmer's been getting too comfortable lately and as we saw in 2016, Michigan has room for surprises.

Nope.  Also, you do realize El-Sayed would very likely be thrown off the ballot if nominated, right?

Why would that be? It cant be because hes illegible to run, cause he was already challenged, and won.

It was only a decision by the SOS, Republicans would likely appeal it and try to get the case decided by the state Supreme Court which has a 5-2 GOP majority.
