Democrats say they want to "follow the facts wherever they lead". That's complete BS. They already came up with the conclusion that Trump is a traitor and they have been trying to make the facts fit their narrative.

The news about Jr.'s meeting with the Russians to collude on digging up dirt on Clinton came from White House sources, not the Democrats.
I'm not saying there's no smoke. I'm just saying that Democrats already convicted Trump of treason in their minds long ago, and no matter where things end up, they will always consider Trump to be a traitor who got away.

A political campaign soliciting this type of service from a foreign national is technically illegal.

I'm a bit confused what do you mean by that exactly.

Almost anything Glenn Beck said in that transcript could have been said by an "Atlas liberal" just as easily IMO. Towards the very end, Beck outright says that Donald Trump Jr. "should go to jail".
I can't resist a bit of snark every now and then. Such is life being a Trump supporter on Atlas. However, what I meant was that Atlas strongly favors mainstream media or partisan left-wing outlets, so I thought it would be good to show that there are major commentators on the right who are rather appalled by this, too.

Actually, while he didn't support Trump in the election, he has been mostly supportive of his Presidency and never got caught up in the weekly outrage sessions by the left and the McMullin types.

Kushner's influence has diminished after the Comey firing. Bannon took on Kushner against everyone's advice and won. Bannon's back in favor, and expect his role to grow. Bannon is a classic "son of a b****" that you want in your corner when the temperature rises and everyone else runs for cover.

I will add regarding legality that it probably depends on what was actually exchanged, which we do not know. As far as we know, there may have been nothing exchanged and the collusion attempt failed. Talking is not something of value.

I don't think it matters, the email shows intent.

"Information" is a rather vague word. I think the idea that speech is a "thing of value" is quite a stretch. The emails do open the door to the possibility that something of tangible value was exchanged, though. Certainly, if services such as information gathering were offered to and accepted by the campaign, that would be something of value.

Don Jr. on Hannity playing down the Russia meetings as just a favor he did for an acquaintance. Says that nothing substantive happened in the 20-minute meeting and he never told his father about it because it wasn't important.

Considering Trump announced a "big speech" on Hillary Clinton's misdeeds just hours after the meeting was confirmed, it sounds like junior is lying (not very surprising here)
He's a good son. Shame his father wouldn't do the same for him if their roles were reversed. (not that I'm endorsing "family over country")

It's war. Infowars, Breitbart, Drudge under FBI investigation for espionage.

The fact that Don Jr. may have technically broken campaign finance laws is small potatoes, and the FEC is toothless anyway.

The real significance of these developments is that we've crossed the Rubicon from "no evidence of collusion" to "clear evidence of attempted collusion". Let's see where the evidence leads from here.

Trump's son, son-in-law, and campaign manager specifically went to a meeting where they believed they could obtain damaging information on Clinton sourced from the Russian government.
And?

Contrary to all the foaming at the mouth hysterics talking about this that isn't illegal, much less 'treason' as lots of unhinged lefties are claiming.
If someone walked into a bank and said to the teller "I'm robbing this place, give me all your money"  and then walked out after that didn't work....would you say "well hey, it was just him talking!"?
That's not an appropriate comparison here.

I notice you seem obsessed with the idea that I don't actually believe what I'm writing. You argue rather like a sectarian fanatic who likes to believe that those opposing him were arguing in bad faith because you don't want to accept the truth that others simply reject his dogmas in good faith.

Seriously, can you just leave this thread? You've made your points over and over again, and you know as well as I do that few people believe your arguments, especially when you try and back them up with random blogs or places like Infowars/Breitbart. All you're doing at this point is making pages and pages of this thread about arguments between you and various other posters. Why do you have to do this to so many Trump/Russia threads on here? Why can't you just make your point, carry on for a little while then move on?

There are a few anti-Trump posters who have posted only garbage in this thread. Ask them to leave first.

The sad thing is, everyone is trying to bring down Trump, and we don't know what's true or not.

It is true. There have been many things to criticize Trump over, but the media chooses to peddle half-truths and hyperboles that are actually more damaging to the country than outright fake news or Trump's mistakes.

Shep Smith and Chris Wallace are (unsurprisingly) not impressed with Trump Jr.

Meanwhile, Kucinich says the meetings are "nothing".
