No he's a right winger because he has said as much on conversations that you were not privy to. Plenty of right-winger support Democrats these days - Frum, Kasich, James Comey, etc, etc.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but would you mind posting a link/citation showing where he said that? 

As i said, private conversation. But within communal Jewish politics he's certainly on the right.
