I think the figures I saw said that 66% of people who have HIV/AIDS didn't know they did, and that was in the US alone. Very good amendment

Why should we allow the lgbt community to donate blood when it's been proven that the disease risk is just too high? I cannot in good conscience support this bill even with the right of a victim to sue.

Well that's actually incorrect- it's not the LGBT community but rather 'Men who have sex with Men'

Quite true. While it is higher among Gay Men, I don't see how in good conscience someone cannot support letting us give blood if we are tested for STIs and are proved to be safe from them. It is the height of lunacy for me.

It's useless debating JCL; he'll just reply to you with some long rant about the 'rainbow jihad'.

Seriously, it's sad you think low of me because I don't think gay men shouldn't donate blood on the basis of scientific fact that the risk of disease is too high and it has been proven as such. It's a matter of safety not hate.

Again people need to understand how HIV/AIDs- it's not gay men, but 'men who have sex with men'. Huge difference

Well seeing as this Bill is most likely to pass the Senate, and the House it appears that not for the first, and I doubt not for the last time the member will be firmly on the wrong side of history
