First of all, no one really likes Rand Paul except libertarians, Iran, Hezbollah, and felons.

1. The war in Iraq was a mission to overthrow a dictator who had the blood of 2 million innocents on his hands, a regime that raped regularly, and a regime that had political prisoners. Saddam Hussein had the capacity to create WMD, he had WMD that he sent into Syria right before our arrival, and he kicked out weapons inspectors and mislead inspectors before that.

2. The Patriot Act is not overreach, it simply makes it easier for law enforcement to obtain warrants, it increases their ability to do "sneak and peek" searches, and it enables law enforcement to communicate with one another.

3. The international community gave Israel to the Israelis in 1948. The Palestinians, who by the way are just people who wandered into Israel as there are no real Palestinians, have committed atrocities against innocent people and have committed acts of war. Israel has spent it's entire existence defending itsself from a phony people who seek to invade their land, and unfortunately, many in this world refuse to acknowledge the FACT that Israel has the right to 100% of the land that was given to them by the Europeans in 1948.

4. The Russian reset is a known failure, no one disputes that.

5. Waterboarding is not torture, it is an enhanced interrogation technique that is rarely used, it is effective.

Bruh...

IN CC's defense he did say

I still believe that people that illegally preform an abortion should be executed or other hard punishment.

Interesting. I would assume this would mostly be about abortion, euthanasia, and (maybe) drugs? Could you explain what social conservatism entails? I am by no means socially conservative, but I always like to hear other opinions.

Someone pointed out they were RELATIVELY conservative. So yeah, people who were really skeptical of conservatives who tried to wipe sex out in the 1990's...and now skeptical of liberal feminists who want to wipe sex out. People who were skeptical of firebrand preachers telling gays how to live their lives in the 1990's...and now skeptical of gays telling preachers how to live their life. Affirmative action often tends to be another base breaker issue. I wouldn't call myself conservative on many social issues, but I would definitely be wildly outside the Democrat norm on almost every single one.

That joke isn't even funny, gees thought the KGB would have better material.

Am I the only one freaked out that Santorum's daughter appears to have a doll that makes her own outfit?

Honest question - is being a racist the worst thing in the world? That's the line most of us have been fed since childhood, but we're all human beings and we're all flawed. Is being a racist so bad that your life's work cannot be viewed in a net positive sense if you are a racist?

when Lehman went bankrupt and the world was in panic, McCain acted like an unstable old man by suspending his campaign so he can return to DC to work on the problem.  Of course, McCain knows very little about the economy and added no value when he went back to DC.  In contrast, Obama exuded a sense of calm leadership, even temperament, and good judgment.  It of course did not hurt that Obama decisively won all 3 debates against the old mumbling McCain.  If it weren't for those grievous errors, McCain's margin of defeat would have been more like 3-4 points nationally rather than 7.2 points.  And he would have won IN, NC, FL, NE 02, and the GOP would have done better in the congressional races as well.

Wrong thread.
No, right thread.  I though McCain was smart to put the country ahead of politics after the financial crisis.  I get tired of the hyper-partisanship of this post, which basically says that Obama was nothing but good and McCain was nothing but bad.

It's also correct- IIRC Mccain handled the meeting with Bush and Obama awfully,
