Assuming that Cassius is no longer an Assemblyman since he already did the swearing in as a Senator, Riley will need to appoint somebody to fill his spot, and no confirmation is needed for that. In the meantime, we have to first elect a Speaker in order to get everything passed.

I believe that since my swearing in as Senator was constitutionally invalid, I still, for the moment, am a Mideast Assemblyman. Should I be wrong, I will of course stand aside for whoever the Governor wishes to appoint in my place. Just to let you know, if I am still an Assemblyman, I second your nomination for Speaker.
