We really need to elect a Speaker in order to progress with this. Ah well, hopefully our last Assembly member should be seated by tommorrow.

So this is interesting. Assuming that Cassius is no longer an Assemblyman since he already did the swearing in as a Senator, Riley will need to appoint somebody to fill his spot, and no confirmation is needed for that. In the meantime, we have to first elect a Speaker in order to get everything passed.

In any case, I'll go ahead and nominate myself for Speaker.

I believe that since my swearing in as Senator was constitutionally invalid, I still, for the moment, am a Mideast Assemblyman. Should I be wrong, I will of course stand aside for whoever the Governor wishes to appoint in my place. Just to let you know, if I am still an Assemblyman, I second your nomination for Speaker.
