I favor an alternative approach to illegal immigration that would involve amnesty and easily obtainable citizenship.  Crack downs like these in the mean time act only as a stop gap measure while I believe my solution is more practical, humane, and comprehensive (I have introduced a relevant bill).

We've tried an amnesty-only approach before.  It didn't work then, and it won't work now.  I'm not opposed to including measures to provide for legalizing some of the ones already here, but we must have real and effective measures to discourage more illegals from coming.  Your approach is the real stop gap proposal, except that it has no stop, but plenty of gap.

Well considering that my opinion concerning immigration is that anyone should be allowed residency if they have been found to be in good health, to not have a criminal record in either the United States, their country of origin or any other country, that they are not affliated with terrorism or any other anti-American groups, and that they either have family currently residing within the United States or a contract for a job from an employer, your not really preaching to the right crowd here.

Also I was put off by the fact that, as far as I could tell, there are no measures in this bill to provide anyway for illegal immigrants already in America to become legal nor any way to make legal means of immigration more readily available.
