You're making $18,000 a year now? Is that even above poverty level?

The problem is that every time you take a job, you decide to go on extended vacations or have some medical problem pop up where you take 2-3 weeks off. I think you desperately need to get away from your parents/Oklahoma, but I wouldn't be surprised if your performances at your past jobs hurt you. I wonder what the law is in OK when someone does a reference check. Do they discuss performance or just confirm you worked there?

Oh no. Did you interview for this, BushKE? Or did you fill out a resume and they just called and accepted you?

I feel somewhat more comfortable if you had a face to face interview and it's with the same company. Should've moved to Raleigh though. East coast > West Coast

Definitely rent the house. Leaving a house vacant only leads to problems. My grandfather has his old home in North Carolina that he refuses to rent and it costs him $25,000 a year to maintain with all the problems and the like that goes on. If you're making only $33,000 a year, I doubt you will be able to maintain two properties, and it would be selfish to ask your parents to foot the bill yet again for it because you're too afraid to make a full jump to Utah.

Don't go out there expecting to fail or keeping a safety net. The best way to go it is to go and make the best of it, whatever happens will happen and you will learn from it.

It's so kinky how BushKE uses cat so frivolously. Letting the cat out of the bag... letting the cat have a peek out.... letting the cat run wild.... so risqué. I'm shocked no one else has picked up on this subtly.

BushKE is going to nail his supervisor so hard when he gets to Utah that he will have a job for the next decade. I have the utmost confidence in him going forward.

I hope BushKE can find a stable job that doesn't involve a call center. I also still stress he gets his life in order in the US before using all that money to go to Kenya. Priorities, priorities... if he does want to go over there in a few years, he needs to have a job and a life here independent of his parents.

Don't be afraid to leave Oklahoma. I remember when I was looking at colleges, most of my high school class stayed in South Carolina for the 4 years because they didn't want to change scenery, but I went to North Carolina because I wanted to get out from under my parents rule. I am so happy I did, because I had so many experiences and freedoms I would never have had if I lived in the same town. I have always maintained that it isn't healthy to be that close in proximity to your parents. Love them with all your heart, but make a life for yourself. You shouldn't have to stick around to care for them or keep them company.

And I would not go back to a call center. You've tried it over and over again. To frame it as Christian as possible, maybe god is telling you that isn't for you. We all have failures, which is what makes life the way it is. Why not look at something like you were doing at the utility company? Surely you can find work there. Do the laws in OK state that companies can give you bad references or just that you worked there? Before this whole mess started, it sounded like you had a stable life, a stable job and could pay your bills. Go back to what works, not what you think might work or something that is a huge risk.

Jesus man, you get the point.. Tongue I was far enough away from my parents to where I didn't see them but during holidays. BushKE is 30 and still sees them every day - hell he still eats with them almost daily. He needs a new lady, fresh, young, full of life to really kickstart him!

First things first.  Lets get the job, first.

A lady would make the time between job searches more pleasant, no?

Also, would create even more strain on the wallet.  Ladies are expensive!

Not if you don't feed them!

145lbs and you're 6 2? Jesus you must be thin as a rail, TJ! I weigh about the same and I'm only 5' 9" or 5' 10". You need to hit the weights for the ladies just like BushKE!

What has drawn you back to Obama, BushKE? Is it his smile? The way he makes your heart flutter when he speaks? Or the way he favors sane principles like gay marriage and allowing abortion?

This isn't another Katrina. It will be bad and you should take shelter, but as far as I know it isn't a category 5 and it won't wreck havoc 500 miles inland. It's silly they even cancelled the RNC for a few high waves.

Some number from Ogden, Utah has been calling me constantly for months. Are you sure it's a legit job?

I found out the number in Odgen that keeps calling me constantly was a call center advertising things. I really hope BushKE has not taken a job with them.

I love the reoccurring themes throughout this drama. BushKE has taken yet another scam job or is lying to us altogether and yet continues to use the same tactics he has used in the past to divert attention from the mistakes he has once again made knowing that the forum had predicted the downfall before it even happened.

For the sake of his parents, I truly hope he isn't just using this as an excuse to visit jamespol for a few weeks on their bill. But it's pretty clear this job he claims to have does not exist, which means he either doesn't have the job, took a job with some other call center or vacuum sales company, or is just making up an excuse to visit his buddy. I don't see any other outcome.

Hmm.. I really hope this turns into something real. This certainly can't be a joke, because although entertaining, Bushie is certainly no Ruth Buzzi.

I will assure you, it is nowhere near as real as the love we have for one another.

The whole going there and staying in an econolodge or a few weeks to see if you like it sounds so fishy to me. If you're not all in, don't go for it. This whole I might stay or I might not sounds so odd, especially if it is a legitimate job.

I'm rooting for BushKE, but I know this is a lie. I guess we can just sit back and wait until he returns to Oklahoma after being let go for some random reason.

I'm rooting for BushKE, but I know this is a lie. I guess we can just sit back and wait until he returns to Oklahoma after being let go for some random reason.

It is no lie.  The reason why I'm saying we'll wait until I get there is I've realized that no matter what I say, the forum won't believe me and I'll be wasting my time trying to answer their questions.  That's fine if the forum won't believe me.  I know what I've got in Utah and I will not be derailed.  I'm really not looking for the forum's approval, I'm just having fun.  There is no need to lock the thread right now (at least from my view point).  I know I opened Pandora's Box when I reopened the thread this past Spring and I told Inks I could handle anything that came my way.  The forum hasn't derailed my thinking at all, I've just been having fun.  Sometimes, talking to a brick wall is fun (you guys can understand that!).  I enjoy this forum and even when you guys bicker and poke holes in every thing I bring before you, I'm just having fun.  The only thing I ask is that none of this ever makes its way to facebook.  What is said on the forum, stays on the forum.

Oh this response is full of all of BushKE's defense mechanisms! It's sending tingles up my spine!

But really, I do wish you luck and if it is a real job, I hope it works out. I can't imagine it being fun to always be in limbo, and finding stability in life is one of the more fulfilling things I could think of at your age.

You should definitely list it. Like I said, you'll never break away unless you're all in. Otherwise you will keep looking back at that safety net and know that if you screw up, you can go to a house that your parents pay for and have no worries.

In a way, we can never truly succeed until our backs are against the wall and we have to fight to survive. Only then will you find success. Until then you will keep spinning your wheels and slacking off because you know your parents will foot the bill for you when you fail. You aren't hungry. Success doesn't mean much to you because you don't have to succee to live.

But that's just my opinion. This whole keeping the house in case you fail is not a good thing because ultimately you will fail. You're planning on it.
