House Democrats Create Medicare for All Caucus

"Medicare for All" is a great name because it's a specific commitment. This is easier to distinguish from the GOP's spurious commitment to "universal access" (i.e. health care for anyone who can afford it).

Let's not get into another situation where we elect people who promise us "universal health care" but instead burden us with a sick joke like the Affordable Care Act.

Obamacare is obviously better than nothing, but aside from the much needed Medicaid expansion, the remaining mechanics of the law are a crude Rube Goldberg machine that is not even very effective at accomplishing its goal. Not surprising when you consider the fact that it is repackaged Heritagecare/Nixoncare/Dolecare/Gingrichcare/Romneycare with a new (D) bow on it. The only meaningful difference is (not so) coincidentally the most useful aspect of the law, the aforementioned Medicaid expansion.
