It doesn't matter if Christie is cleared of all wrong-doing. The fact that this happened has permanently tainted Christie as a "corrupt politician" in the minds of a lot of Republican voters.

Yup. If you combined the NJ Democratic establishment into one person, they'd be Andrew Cuomo.
