This guy was incredibly vulnerable in 2022 but Democrats just had to have the brilliant idea of coalescing behind a far left activist.
Agreed, Barnes was definitely a weak candidate and given even he almost pulled it off, a better nominee would have won. Didn't even have to be a moderate type, I think a progressive like Mark Pochan could have beaten Johnson. It's unfortunate Barnes didn't even have viable challengers in the primary. Furthermore, it was a huge miss that narrows the Democrats' already tight path to keep the majority in 2024.
