Tlaib and Omar need to go. They're really bad team players. AOC to her credit came along and contributed to the campaign.

Neoliberals don't seem to like having Muslim women in congress.

"Neoliberal" is divisive term for people who consider themselves left of center but oppose full scale socialism. Regardless, it's not about her religion, it's about not endorsing a decent candidate who supports at least two thirds of her agenda in one form or another over Donald Trump who has corrupted the office, embarrassed himself in front of the world and who literally supports almost nothing what a self described socialist stands for. Bernie and AOC understand that. Tlaib doesn't.

Tlaib is trash, She needs to be primaried.

What she actually said, beyond the centrist hate-bait headline.

Quote
“If the ultimate goal is to get rid of Donald Trump, that doesn’t have to involve me actually endorsing Biden,” she continued.

“My constituents don’t need to be bogged down in, ‘Is he the best candidate?’ That’s not what you have to convince my residents. They need to come out in droves and be inspired by something. And that is going to be a vote against Donald Trump.”

Centrism is trash and has no place in a thinking society.

Then what ideology would you prefer?

I prefer people to use their brains rather than believing whatever parroted confirmation-bias baiting headline they come across. Tlaib is not a huge figure in the sense that a governor or senator would be for example, nor is she telling people not to vote for Biden, more saying her endorsement shouldn't matter if people want Trump gone. A quick three second check of the article would've told you that.

And if you have to ask what's preferable to Both Sides Centrism then you're in the wrong party.

Centrism to me means a sense of pragmatism. Some ideological guidance and a value frame is a good thing, but it shouldn't prevent someone from thinking instead of taking the strict right or left stance on an issue. Of course, there can't be a middle ground on every single issue, but on others it's necessary to look at problems from various points of view and find a solution in the middle. Especially when one political party doesn't hold complete power. Otherwise nothing ever gets done. Unfortunately, the US hasn't done well here for quite some time because the parties moved more and more to the right and left, respectively. But it also belongs to the truth that the Republican Party bears a much higher responsibility for that than the Democrats.

This is the reason why people like Tlaib would be less successful as opposed to regular Democrats. The progressives don’t believe in pragmatism, if they don’t get what they want they give up. It’s all or nothing for them. On the other hand with mainstream Democrats like Biden, they will come to the table with their proposal and make the case for it, if they can’t get want they want entirely then they will compromise and change thing to accommodate others will still staying true to their values.

Imagine if Obama started off in 2009, pushing for Single Payer and when he realized it would get through started saying it’s my way or the highway. We would have never gotten health care reform and we would be worse off.

You can’t get what you want all the time in politics. It’s a simple fact, you must compromise. It’s why Sanders would have never been able to get his agenda through. You cannot go in expecting everyone to give in to your demands, thats not how politics works and if you do your bound to be disappointed.

Couldn't agree more. However, I think "progressives" should be differentiated here. There are some like Tlaib, Omar or Nina Turner, or so called "Justice Democrats", who fully embrace "my way or the highway" and spend half of their time trashing mainstream Democrats, but there are other progressives who hold their values, but still are able to make meaningful contributions and work with others get things done. They're also much better team players who put the overall cause of personal feelings. Take Liz Warren as an example and how she has conducted herself in recent months. There are others such as Tammy Baldwin, Sherrod Brown or, at the state level, John Fetterman. Bernie is a mixed bag; I doubt he would have gotten much done legislatively if elected. But he deserves credit for endorsing Joe Biden after dropping out and he did his part to unite the party. Same with AOC. They understand that beating Trump and restore honor to the White House is more important than everything else.
