I think Johnny would defeat Hilldog. Kasich does very well in rust belt, taking Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He is also strong in New England, while his running mate Marco Rubio helps with Florida. Kaine saves narrowly (50-49%) Virginia. Kasich picks up a lot of votes from dissaffected Democrats.
