Discrepancies between minimum age requirements like this pop up all over the place.  Look at the alcohol laws, for example.  A person may legally vote, have consensual sex, and fight for his or her country, but they must wait another handful of years before being able to drink.  It's insane.

There's also girls I could sleep with but I'd be a felon if I was found with a nude photo of them.

I know why the law's that way and everything, for practical reasons, but in practice it's still pretty ridiculous
