I guess it's happening:

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump  3m3 minutes ago
I have accepted the invitation of President Enrique Pena Nieto, of Mexico, and look very much forward to meeting him tomorrow.
Just like in Louisiana, Trump looks Presidential, while.. where in the World is Hillary Clinton again?

Shes too busy winning.

Isn't the President of Mexico deeply unpopular and corrupt?

Indeed. I have a friend who is Mexcian and he has nothing but horrible things to say about EPN, and his opinions of him are generally reflective of the country at large.

Someone suggested this was a ploy by EPN to lay into Trump and improve his popularity. Trump is hated in Mexico.

Judging by the tenor of today´s lunchtime conversation, we are rapidly moving into impeachment levels of support of Peña. And this is, literally, days before the State of the Union. The guy is an imbecile.

Is your president really this stupid?

Treasury Secretary is supporting the president. Mind it: that this is a news tells you quite a bit.

He's not seriously going to pay for the wall, is he?

Someone was just screaming on the live stream, probably a protester.

It seems like most of the headlines are going to be about the wall and the payment of it, not sure if thats good or bad for Trump.

Actually they both lost. There's a reason why Pena-Nieto's approvals are in the 20s south of the border and Trump's aren't much better

True, but I was more referring to Trump trying to get concessions on Wall funding.

EPN was apparently emasculated somewhere in the process, however, if he let Trump get away with lying to about in front of the press, I don't think you could say Trump was the one "lost" here. Trump allowed us to visualize what him being President would actually look like, and although he was as stale as cardboard, it wasn't horrifying, while Pena Nieto was left to impotently "correct the record" hours after the fact.

Instead of a polite correction that gets ignored , tomorrow's headline goes from "Trumps trip to Mexico" to "Trump Lied", at least imo.
