Deukmejian was the last California Governor to crack the 60 % mark (he got 61% in 1986)

Brown wins reelection in a landslide 61-36 and the Dems keep the CA governorship for a long time because of the crappy state of the GOP.

Isn't the CA State Attorney General the second most powerful statewide office behind the governor?

Lieutenant Governor's powers and influence are very limited in California.

They need to make the CA Lieutenant Governor more powerful like their counterparts in Texas, Alabama and Georgia.

CA Lieutenant Governor should also appoint committee chairmanships and setting the legislative agenda

Or maybe abolish the LG office altogether and have the Secretary of State next in line (see AZ)
