I love how news of all these shenanigans are (likely) breaking too late to sink Vitter in the primary, but just in time to sink him in the runoff.

How in the world did Edwards win Livingston parish?

There were kind of three major Republicans who split around 75% of the vote for themselves. So it's not like the Democrats are doing well there, it's just the spoiler effect.

But Edwards still got ~25%, which is a good deal better than Obama's 16%...

Before anyone starts screaming "LIKELY R!!!1!1!!1!1one!!!1" because of Kentucky, keep in mind that post-jungle polling in the Senate race here last year actually underestimated Landrieu's ultimate vote total. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_election_in_Louisiana,_2014#Polling_2

Sure, Kentucky makes this a little worrying (grrrrr Southern whites, you cruel temptresses), but Edwards is getting much larger margins in the polls than Conway ever did, and Louisiana polls don't have a history of overestimating Democrats the way they do in Kentucky.

The LA Dems chair says "there's more to come."

Farewell David Vitter, we hardly knew ye.

Apparently at the debate last night, Edwards said "With respect to the negative ad, if it’s a low blow it’s only because that’s where you live, Senator"

Hooooooooooooooooly sh**t, Edwards is RUTHLESS. He's really breaking out the brass knuckles on this. And to think just a few months ago I thought he was some rando who shouldn't even bother! Oh, how fickle politics is...

Okay if Louisiana votes for that absolute scumbag Vitter over the man of true integrity and honesty John Bel Edwards because OOGILY BOOGILY BROWN PEOPLE then they no longer deserve the rights and privileges of this great Union and should be ejected immediately tbh. But I do believe that at least a slim majority of Louisianans will see through Vitter's slimy and desperate tactics and make the right choice (though the South hasn't given me much faith in that as of late...).
