Agree or Disagree: The Wrestler was "harsher" than Requiem for a Dream

That seems to be a rather rare opinion of mine. It might've had to do with pre-watching expectations, but whatever. After watching The Wrestler I had initially planned on going to Target afterwards to pick up some basic stuff but afterwards I didn't as I didn't feel like going anywhere, even Target. I just went to my apartment to wind down and didn't leave to Target for like two hours.

Am I the only one who didn't feel that way about it? I thought it was a bit too cartoonish. The Wrestler seemed faaaaaaaaar more real.

The Wrestler. I don't think I have seen Requiem for a Dream. I am told the latter is much more tolerable in the gross out category, plus apparently has more sex and drugs.

How far did you get? Sounds like you were just turned off by the graphic violence in the wrestling. The actual story material gets much worse after that.
